Competition Rules
Entry Fee
No entry fee is charged.
Scoring
Points for correctly tipped win: 1
A maximum of 1 draw may be tipped each round.
Points for correctly tipped draw: 3
Points for an untipped draw: 1
Bonus awarded for all games correct: 1
Penalty deducted for all games incorrect: 1
The competition ladder is sorted by score then by 'countback'.
Countback - If tippers are on an equal score then the tipper
with more higher scoring rounds (excluding Bonus Points) will be ranked higher.
Default Tips
Default tips for tippers who fail to enter tips will be Away Game Winners.
Default score for late entrants (for the rounds that they missed) will be Average Score (Rounded down).
Tippers who receive a default score are ineligible for the weekly prize.
Weekly Prize
The weekly prize is 2 Bottles of Australian Wine
The prize is awarded to the competitor with all tips correct whose predicted tie-breaker is most accurate.
If no-one gets them all correct the prize jackpots to the next round.
The tie-breaker is the margin from a specified game.
In the event of a tie, the tipper whose predicted margin is closest to the actual margin is the weekly prize winner.
If the weekly prize is not won outright in the final round,
it will be awarded to the tipper(s) who have the highest score and whose predicted tie-breaker is most accurate.
Competition Prize
Traditionally, the TTALA Grand Final day starts with pre-lunch refreshments (in order to get everyone into the Grand Final 'spirit' of course). Lunch is then dined at one of Melbourne's fine culinary establishments, following which the TTALA team make their way to the Grand Final match.
After the high level of energy and excitement that is the AFL Grand Final, post match re-hydration will most certainly be in order and the day moves to a local establishment for the mandatory after-match debriefing. When hydration levels are back in order, re-fuelling will be required at another of Melbourne’s excellent restaurants after which you can expect to round out the day with a night cap and taxi ride home.
